Family Time

I know it's been a while since I have posted.  My family has been going through some tough times lately.  My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer about eight months ago and has been putting up a brave fight,  well we lost her Friday afternoon.  She was a great lady that I loved dearly.  I was raised with her living about two miles from me in our rural community so I saw her daily.  I learned so many things from her.  What creativity that I have came in part from her.  She taught me how to sew, crochet, decorate cakes, paint , plant and grow a garden and then can the vegetables she also taught me how to butcher chickens.  (I know that last one is kinda gross but that's farm life.)
Even though I will miss her I know she is in a much better place.  She lived her life as a Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was such an inspiration in my walk with the Lord.  She truly talked and walked the walk as a Christian.  I know for sure that she is next to him receiving all her rewards!!

  1. I know your grandmother is in heaven having a wonderful time with Jesus. But of course it is still so hard for the people that love her. I am so sorry for the loss of this very special person in your life. You and your family will be in my prayers.

  4. Kim, Oh- I am so sorry to hear you lost your gramma! There is just nothing like a grandmother that cherishes and loves her grandkids and includes them in her daily walk. I know how much you will miss her. And, even though there is consolation in the fact that she is in Heaven it still doesn't take away that terrible ache, does it?

God bless you, honey, as you go through this Holiday..I know how tough it will be on you. Just know that we are here for you and I am only an email away if you want to write. Sometimes writing is a good way to ease the pain. Hugsxxoo Diana

  6. Hi Kim Sweetie...
I saw your post on NanaDiana's blog and just had to come over. You are an Okie too. I love my Oklahoma. I am from Enid, however I now live in Phoenix, Arizona. All my family lives back there however. We have some throughout the state. Once an Okie Gal, always an Okie Gal.

I am SO sorry to hear about your Grandma sweetie, it is so hard when we lose a piece of the family. She has left you many gifts I see. You can sew, crochet, decorate cakes, paint and plant a garden, and just like my Grandma she even taught you how to butcher the chickens. Yes that one, is quite an experience. Been there, done that, ain't going back, EVER. I will buy them at the store.

I am Country Wings in Phoenix, your newest follower. I am so thrilled to meet you sweet friend, and so look forward to future posts of yours. Please stop by and say hi. 8. I am so sorry to hear this. What wonderful memories though, traditions, talents and traits she passed down to you. I was very close with my Grandparents, so I know the feeling of the loss. You never forget, in fact 20 years later I still think of my Gram every day...but I smile:)
