Tooo Cute!!

Woke up this morning tired and not wanting to do a thing.  I think the staying up late is finally hitting me.
I'm really bad about starting a project about 9 o'clock at night thinking to myself "oh this will only take about an hour....."  Boy was I wrong with this next little project.

Ya I know she is super cute now but it took forever to get a dress on this gal!!!  My neighbor Dianna that owns Simply Vintage called me a couple of weeks ago and told me to come look at this chair that she bought at an auction.  Diana is so good at finding furniture that has great bones to it.  Even though the material was hideous it was very sturdy and the legs were gorgeous.  She just needed a dress change.  So I took her home and she sat in the garage for a couple of weeks until the other night at 9:00.  I dug her out grabbed some fabric that I had bought last year on clearance and started to stapling away.

(Excuse the awful picture)

For some reason I had the hardest time getting the fabric tight around her.  The hubs would hold and stretch and I would staple.  She was a real pain.

After going though all the time and trouble of getting her fabric on I thought she would be completed with cording.  Take to mind I have never made cording and you know what?  It's not that hard.  I just went to my favorite blog Miss Mustard Seed.   (She has a great tutorial on how to make it.)  I love her blog she is so creative and gives such great tutorials go check her out if you haven't already.

So after alot of cutting, stapling and cussin I got that girl in her new dress.  I don't even want to tell you what time I got in bed.  Late real late!!!
I took my beauty to the store yesterday and Dianna loved her just as much as I do.  I wish I could keep her but I need to put a few more things in the store.  Oh well I'm sure I can find something just as special to redo soon and I have tons of that fabric so maybe I can make her twin.

  6. She's gorgeous. What a diva! Great job!

I do the exact same thing too. Like now. Everyone is in bed and at 10 I said, I'll be up in 5 minutes. Oops. It's always the same story. I could stay up and work until 2 a.m. but when 7 a.m. comes, I have to drag myself up so...better hit the hay. ;)
