Since being trapped in my home for the past week due to the blizzard of 2011 it has made me go thru my home looking at alot of things that I'm tired of. Hence the kitchen drapes. I made these a couple of years ago after painting my kitchen. I love the checks and I dig french decor...so this is what I came up with. It's not bad but it just never truly made me walk in and out of the room looking at my accomplishment. ( I tend to do that, come in and out of a room turn off and on the light to see it that makes a difference... I know a little weird).
So after looking and looking at blogs and design sites I think I found a couple that I really like. I hope I can come up with something that has this feel.

I just love the look of both of these they look worn and clean and kinda tell a story. Whatcha all think? I thought about using scriptures and putting them in french and putting dates on them like children's birthdays and anniversaries corny or cute? What's your thought? I need your words of wisdom!!
I think it sounds like a great idea. How are you going to get the writing on the fabric? What kind of fabric will you use? I am curious because I think it sounds like a neat project!
ReplyDeleteRicki I think I'm going to use a burlap or dropcloth or linen. As far as the writing I will use my yudu or maybe handpaint it not sure about that yet.

Where did you find your inspiration photos? Your style is very pretty and clasis. Have you considered doing tutorials on any of your projects? I'm a new follower and plan to visit often!
