Words of Wisdom

Since being trapped in my home for the past week due to the blizzard of 2011 it has made me go thru my home looking at alot of things that I'm tired of.  Hence the kitchen drapes.  I made these a couple of years ago after painting my kitchen.  I love the checks and I dig french this is what I came up with. It's not bad but it just never truly made me walk in and out of the room looking at my accomplishment.  ( I tend to do that, come in and out of a room turn off and on the light to see it that makes a difference... I know a little weird).

So after looking and looking at blogs and design sites I think I found a couple that I really like.  I hope I can come up with something that has this feel.

I just love the look of both of these they look worn and clean and kinda tell a story.  Whatcha all think?  I thought about using scriptures and putting them in french and putting dates on them like children's birthdays and anniversaries corny or cute?  What's your thought? I need your words of wisdom!!

  1. I think it sounds like a great idea. How are you going to get the writing on the fabric? What kind of fabric will you use? I am curious because I think it sounds like a neat project!

  2. Ricki I think I'm going to use a burlap or dropcloth or linen. As far as the writing I will use my yudu or maybe handpaint it not sure about that yet.

  3. I love them both. It makes me think of painter's drop cloths right off the bat. What a great project...can't wait to see what you do.

BTW, I do that too...walk in and out of a room and look at things I have done from all different angles. Love that someone else has that "disease" too. Hugs-Diana

  4. I can't wait to see what you create! Love the direction you are going with burlap or a dropcloth!

  5. Will you hate me if I say I like the check? If you do the writing, I like the photo with the words on the bottom the best. Wordy treatments would look nice in your dining area.

  6. THank you for visiting me today!
I love your blog and love those curtains!
I have to say I do that thing as and out off and on with the son can attest to this! He thinks mom is nuts too!
    I'm a happy new follower!
    Pamela :)

  7. Where did you find your inspiration photos? Your style is very pretty and clasis. Have you considered doing tutorials on any of your projects? I'm a new follower and plan to visit often!

  8. I plan on doing some tutorials on some of the things I make in the near future. As far as where I found my inspiration photos I thought I linked it up but now realize I didn't. I went back thru my favorites and can't figure out where it came from but as soon as I do I'll let you all know!! Thanks so much for leaving such nice comments I appreciate it.
