Our Vintage Baby Darcie's Shower

Wow it's been forever a lot has changed since the last time I posted and I'm going to try to share all the new and some of the old things that I've been up to.  The biggest and best news is that I'm finally going to be a grandma.  Yay!! We've been -planning the room and now the showers have started.  Our really good friends Rhonda and Lindsay planned the sweetest little shower.  All of our vintage loves and colors were incorporated.
I called the talented Bernadette from Cookiedoodle to make her wonderful sugar cookies.  She did an amazing job.  The theme of the shower was a shabby paperdoll theme so Bernadette worked her magic making little purses with Darcie's monogram on them.

Emily holding one of the sweet little dolls made by the Cookiedoodle.  I love all the the details in them.

Lots and lots of little dresses and shoes in all different colors.  So sweet and cute and I love the vintage cake plate that it is displayed.  Rhonda borrowed my huge glass server too.  I love that thing and use it for a lot of different events.  The best thing about it is I only paid 5 dollars for it at Goodwill years ago.

Cute little momma with her table of goodies lots and lots of milk glass, Rhonda also used her vintage rose dishes.  A banner made with burlap and paper dolls finished it off perfectly.

A lovely shabby shower..we are truly blessed!!! I'll share the food table tomorrow lots and lots of sweet details.

Vintage Christmas

Busy time around here at Okie Chic we've been doing shows, decorating for showers, planning parties and put in a holiday booth in Claremore.  Whew....thank goodness I have alot of help with my sisters and friends.  Here's a little bit of the Christmas booth.  We went with vintage nostalgic.

Lots and lots of handmade ornaments by sista Lisa Jo.  I want them all!!!  We purchased this champagne colored tree and it just made them pop.  I added little banners here and there it was a hit.

Sweet little slip covered bench that I made.  I have carried this thing around to several shows and it hasn't sold yet, I think its meant to be mine.

A close up of the ornaments.  This are really big I think around 5x7 size.  Isn't it cute?  She adds tons of vintage pieces to them old buttons, seam binding and lace.  Love!!

Another sweet ornament lots of vintage tinsel and military flowers.  I bought a lot of old tinsel this summer at a garage sale from a little old lady.  She asked me if 50cents was too much for four rolls of it.  So of course I gave her a little more and a hug.  Love days like that.

Vintage Signs for Market

Love Love Love these signs that we are making for Vintage Market Days!!  We went digging around the old family farm this weekend and found all kinds of wood and neat vintage discards to paint on.  Sista Lisa Jo painted this Jesus Loves Me sign.  I love the worn warm colors she used with the old hinge.  So sweet!!

Who doesn't like a nest sign?  We will have several different signs each one unique and different.  We try to find old vintage discards to paint on.  Whether it's an old dresser that fell apart or an old chair that has no legs they are perfect for us to turn into something beautiful once again!

Sista's at Work

Since all my projects are half done around here thought I would share another little sign. This one is made by my  other sis Lisa Jo.  She found the dresser drawer down at the family farm. Daddy was cleaning out an old building that was used as a garage when my great grandparents lived on the farm.  It was full of old junk alot it had been ruined due to a roof  leak... Sad There is no telling what treasures I could have found!!

I love the word vintage that she painted on it so sweet.  The drawer handles make it even sweeter.  Never know what you'll find around the farm!!
