Our Vintage Baby Darcie's Shower

Wow it's been forever a lot has changed since the last time I posted and I'm going to try to share all the new and some of the old things that I've been up to.  The biggest and best news is that I'm finally going to be a grandma.  Yay!! We've been -planning the room and now the showers have started.  Our really good friends Rhonda and Lindsay planned the sweetest little shower.  All of our vintage loves and colors were incorporated.
I called the talented Bernadette from Cookiedoodle to make her wonderful sugar cookies.  She did an amazing job.  The theme of the shower was a shabby paperdoll theme so Bernadette worked her magic making little purses with Darcie's monogram on them.

Emily holding one of the sweet little dolls made by the Cookiedoodle.  I love all the the details in them.

Lots and lots of little dresses and shoes in all different colors.  So sweet and cute and I love the vintage cake plate that it is displayed.  Rhonda borrowed my huge glass server too.  I love that thing and use it for a lot of different events.  The best thing about it is I only paid 5 dollars for it at Goodwill years ago.

Cute little momma with her table of goodies lots and lots of milk glass, Rhonda also used her vintage rose dishes.  A banner made with burlap and paper dolls finished it off perfectly.

A lovely shabby shower..we are truly blessed!!! I'll share the food table tomorrow lots and lots of sweet details.

Busy Bee

Hey you all I'd like to introduce myself..... Naw you know me I've just been super busy.  Buzzing around here doing home things, party things and ya wedding things..  Summer is always a busy time for me.  Recently one of my really good friends called me and asked me to help with her daughters wedding, "Heck ya I said".  Then she let me know that it was on July 23rd and outside WOW can you say hot tamale?  Well with that said you all of you know how I love weddings and we've known the bride since her and Emily were in second grade.  She is one of Emilys best friends and we consider her  family.  It will be a simple Vintage Chic wedding and you know how I love vintage weddings.
Emily is the Matron Of Honor and we are in the middle of planning the shower.  We want it to be a little vintage and a little funky.  We don't know if we want to do cupcakes or a cake.  I have found several cakes online that I love and think I can make.  Ya I could buy it but I love the way these look simple and different.

Love the ruffled look on a cute cake plate stand.  Plus it looks yummy with all that frosting.

(from I Am Baker)

I also love love this rose cake, plus it looks super simple and I Am Baker gives a tutorial on how to do it.  I'm not a cake decorator but I think I can do this one.  Decisions decisions decisions sometimes it's hard especially when your doing it for friends you just want everything perfect.  Is anything ever perfect?  Nope and really it looks better if it's not.
Well I'm off to to some planning, yard work and cleaning on the house I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow plus having family over for the fourth so there is tons to do since I will be in bed for a couple of days.  Wish me luck I don't like dentist.  Yuck!
